Hartford, Berkshire unit settle asbestos reinsurance dispute
The Hartford has received $1.12 billion from a Berkshire Hathaway unit to commute an asbestos and environmental reinsurance agreement and settle an arbitration dispute between the companies, the insurer disclosed Friday.
